Three Little Birds Coffee, D7 Sentul

I was rummaging through the list of coffee places in KL to visit and I was surprised when I saw this place on the list. Its nearby where I live and I've never heard of it! Seeing that today was my off day from work, and it is International Coffee Day, so why not pay a visit?

Its a hidden enclave in Sentul, somewhere which I did not expect to find a place like this. Surrounded by beautiful landscape, this is the place to go if you want to run away from the hustle and bustle of a hectic life. Considering it's a Monday, there was a crowd at this place, more than what I expected.

The cute table for 2 and note the wet floor look which is kinda cool
Passionfruit Lime Cake

This is the Passionfruit Lime cake which I ordered. When I asked them for their best cake, the staff there recommended the cheesecake, but since I was there for breakfast, the idea of stuffing myself with a rich slab of cheesecake was not that appealing so I asked for the next best thing and he recommended this. The cake was buttery and sweet, but it was pleasantly balanced with the sourness of the lime and on top, the icing is made of passionfruit and you can actually bite into the seeds (which I would rather not). Its an interesting cake, but The King from VCR still stays at the top of my list of favorite cakes.I would still prefer this cake over the cakes from Swich, Publika. The good thing about this cake was the fact that it wasn't dry, and I think that's important for cakes.

Cappuccino
The cappu was a bit strong for my liking, but if you like strong coffees then this should be your cup. :)

Smoked Salmon Croissant
They had like 4 different types of croissants available on the menu. Although their Valrhona Croissant did catch my eye, I wanted to go for something more savoury instead for breakfast since I was already having the cake. Once again, I trusted the staff to choose the food for me and I must say I was not disappointed! The croissant was soft and buttery but what made the whole thing a lot more interesting was the green apples. It added extra texture and flavour to the dish! Maybe I will try the Valrhona croissant during my next visit. Who knows? This is a place which I will visit again.

Overall, I would rate them 4/5 for taste and 5/5 for ambiance.

Cheers!

Greetings!

Good day lovely people of the world! Welcome to my midnight random idea; a blog about my food and travelling adventures.

Although in this day an age, when everything seems to be updated on Facebook,Twitter and Instagram, a blog seems rather "old-fashion", but I must say, it may be old fashion, but it allows me to ramble more and share my experiences with the world out there.

I have abandoned blogging for awhile now, I was thinking of writing about this in my old blog, but that one contained too many old memories, and I thought a new blog would be more appropriate. The old one was set up back in 2007/2008, when I was young and naive. Now I am just slightly older, still gullible, with some wrinkles starting to form on my face, but just the same old rambling self of mine.

I started travelling back in 2012. Prior to that I was always focused on studying and working and being "successful". I started to be a foodie mid last year. If you met me 10 years ago and asked me "Where will you be in 10 years from now?", I would have said that I would be busy pursuing my Masters/PhD. I mean, no harm in wanting those things, but my priorities have changed. Now that I have experienced the life of a student and a life of a working adult, I would like to stop and smell the roses around me. I would really love to continue my postgraduate studies, but over the years, I have come to realize that we must do what we love while we still can.

Once I started travelling, I learnt things, saw things from a new perspective. Life is not always black and white, it can be colorful, depending on how you see it. My new found passion is travel and food. I may not be jet-setting around the world every month due to work commitments, but I make it a point to go at least twice a year. I love travelling because it has taught me so much in such a little time. It has taught me patience, understanding, love, time management, responsibility, forgiveness, and compromise. When I traveled with my friends, I learnt that compromise, understanding and forgiveness is important. Which is why when it comes to friends, I travel with those closest to me and those whom understand me the most. There were times when I wanted to head back to the hotel and rest but my friend wanted to go on, or vice versa. When I was travelling with my mother, I learnt love, patience, responsibility, forgiveness and much more. I tell you, its not easy making a 67 year old woman climb up the Angkor Wat and also the Great Wall, take her around Beijing through the subway, or cross the busy streets of Chiang Mai with her, but I did. It feels good when you are able to make someone so important to you happy. That feeling is priceless!

The foodie in me was unleashed by a close friend of mine from work. We started hanging out and before you know it, he has successfully converted me into a foodie! Although I am considered a "baby-foodie" compared to the rest out there, we all have to start somewhere and I am taking my baby steps.

So lets toast to a new beginning filled with food and travels!
