Alas, I have managed to squeeze some time out of my ever hectic schedule to do some cafe visiting, and this time, I chose one closer to my house, Tim's Teapot Terrace. Its located at the same row as Breadties. I used the back road to get there so I'm not sure if you can see the shop from the main road. They open at 11am and half the shop is a cafe and the other half sells home decor stuff. I decided to try their desserts for lunch (Yes, I can have dessert as main meal). I had scones, banofee pie and the much famed Nutella Chocolate cake.

I would say that this place is well decorated and the staff are warm and friendly. At 11.30am, I was the only customer in the shop. I would suggest you stop by this place for drinks and cake as their main meal selections are rather limited, they have Mac&Cheese, lasagna, Shepherd's Pie and chicken pie. The first 3 contain beef so I could not try them, but since I had set my sights on the desserts, I didn't really mind. From the cake selection by the window, I asked the staff which was their best seller and she pointed towards the Nutella Chocolate Cake so I ordered that.
The cake was dense and rich but not up to my satisfaction. I honestly don't know why this is their most popular cake, maybe on my next visit, I would try the orange cake instead, or the VSC.
Scones served with butter and jam |
Their scones are served with butter and jam. Compared to Miss Ellie's, the scones are smaller and crumbly. I personally prefer Miss Ellie's but my mom insists that these are better, so I leave this open for debate!
Banoffee Pie |
The cappucino is just average. All in all, I give this place 4/5 for ambiance and 2.5/5 for taste. I was really disappointed by the Nutella Chocolate cake as I had high expectation because other blogs were praising it.
Till next time. :)
